Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the first table of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to begin their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
With a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the events of episode 3 show why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to head next after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his own means, invading the secret base, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and escaped to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the region and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the group access places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the other eight players to form the Seekers and Planners parties.
Fans can look forward to discovering which characters will be assigned to which table in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on October 24.
